EBC is recruiting a Sales and Customer Relations Officer for a client in the logistics and freight-forwarding sector. The successful candidate will generate new business, manage existing customer accounts and promote logistics, transportation, clearing and freight-forwarding services. Key responsibilities
Sales and business development
- Identify new business opportunities in logistics and freight forwarding.
- Develop prospects in import/export, manufacturing, retail, construction, agriculture and e-commerce.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer database.
- Contact prospects, assess their logistics needs and recommend suitable services.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals and commercial offers.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within authorised limits.
- Work toward agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
Customer relationship management
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and business partners.
- Grow existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling and retention activities.
- Serve as a key contact for customers throughout the shipment process.
- Give customers timely updates on shipment progress and delays.
- Investigate complaints and coordinate appropriate solutions.
- Follow up with customers to confirm that reported issues have been resolved.
Logistics coordination
- Coordinate with clearing, forwarding, transportation and warehousing teams.
- Work with documentation and operational teams to meet customer requirements.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable transport and logistics solutions.
- Coordinate freight rates and prepare competitive, accurate quotations.
- Ensure proposed rates remain consistent with approved company margins.
Reporting and market intelligence
- Monitor competitors, pricing, routes and changing customer needs.
- Identify possible new services, markets and business segments.
- Maintain records of leads, quotations, interactions and conversions.
- Prepare periodic sales reports for management.
- Share relevant customer feedback and market intelligence.
- Protect the accuracy and confidentiality of customer information.
