BRAC Uganda Bank is recruiting a Customer Relationship Officer to support its agricultural lending activities. The successful candidate will introduce prospective and existing customers to the bank’s agricultural loan products, guide applicants through the borrowing process and monitor the performance of issued loans. This field-oriented opportunity is particularly suitable for an agriculture graduate who understands rural livelihoods, communicates confidently with customers and can travel by motorcycle to farms, homes and agribusiness locations.

Purpose of the role
The officer will promote BRAC Uganda Bank’s agricultural lending products, support customers throughout the loan process and introduce them to other relevant financial services offered by the bank.
Key responsibilities
- Educate prospective and existing customers about agricultural loans and other suitable banking products.
- Provide clients with financial-literacy training and other relevant guidance.
- Help applicants complete loan forms and assemble the documents required by the bank.
- Conduct field visits to assess applicants’ homes, agribusinesses and proposed collateral where necessary.
- Evaluate applicants’ character, credit history and references to assess their ability and willingness to repay.
- Facilitate the disbursement of approved loans in line with established procedures and performance targets.
- Monitor outstanding loans and review the performance of the assigned portfolio.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers while identifying appropriate cross-selling opportunities.
Qualifications and competencies
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Crop Science, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture or a related course.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence presenting information and persuading prospective customers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle for field assignments.
