Six Sonographer vacancies are available in regional referral hospitals and China–Uganda Friendship Hospital Naguru. The successful professionals will perform ultrasound investigations, provide reports to referring clinicians, run quality-control procedures and assist with image-guided interventions. The posts require university-level ultrasound training and are suited to candidates who can combine technical image quality, patient communication, clinical teamwork and supervision of junior staff.
Who should apply?
- Graduates in Medical Ultrasound, Diagnostic Ultrasound or an accepted equivalent field.
- Sonographers able to conduct investigations and produce dependable reports for clinicians.
- Candidates comfortable with quality control, interventional support, training and staff supervision.

- Conduct ultrasound investigations and prepare reports for referring clinicians.
- Carry out quality-control procedures for ultrasound services.
- Assist physicians and radiologists during interventional procedures.
- Participate in training and supervise and appraise subordinate staff.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Ultrasound, Diagnostic Ultrasound or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Professional registration and a valid practising licence where required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
