Mukwano ICD (U) Limited is recruiting a Weighbridge Operator for its operations in Tororo. The successful candidate will operate the weighbridge, record trucks entering and leaving the facility and reconcile measured cargo weights against the quantities shown on delivery and dispatch documents.
This opportunity is suitable for a higher-diploma holder with at least two years of relevant experience in weighbridge, warehouse, logistics or cargo operations. Key Responsibilities
- Direct trucks and other traffic entering the company premises.
- Operate the weighbridge and record vehicles entering and leaving the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of all weighed materials and cargo.
- Reconcile measured cargo weights with quantities shown on official documents.
- Prepare daily reports and highlight identified discrepancies.
- Report discrepancies involving dispatched goods to the responsible officers.
- Coordinate paperwork for cargo deliveries and collections.
- Keep the weighbridge, office and surrounding area clean, organised and free from hazards.
- Monitor the operation of the weighbridge and report faults or breakdowns.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Services Department when repairs are required.
- Support the periodic inspection and calibration of the weighbridge.
- Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- A higher diploma in a business-related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant work experience.
- Practical experience in weighbridge, warehouse, logistics or cargo operations is relevant to the role.
