Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain environmental, health and safety policies and guidelines.
- Promote correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to workplace-safety programmes.
- Review the corporate EHS management-system manual and monitor its implementation.
- Prepare EHS training plans and coordinate relevant staff training with Human Resources.
- Support the development of short-term and long-term corporate EHS objectives.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and document the findings.
- Monitor performance against EHS plans and prepare management reports.
- Support quarterly environmental, health and safety audits.
- Liaise with government institutions and other external EHS stakeholders.
- Advise departments on environmental, health and workplace-safety matters.
- Encourage employees to report hazards and potential incidents.
- Compile EHS data and report qualifying incidents accurately and promptly.
- Follow applicable health, safety and quality-management guidelines.
Qualifications and experience
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Chemistry or another relevant discipline.
- At least two years of relevant experience in a similar field.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures affecting manufacturing organisations.

- Ability to complete assignments independently.

- Ability to prepare clear and accurate correspondence and reports.

Important work conditions
