Job Details:

Background Information:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner Records and Information Management for performing the following duties:-

  • Conducting inspections and advising Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments on record and information management issues
  • Providing protection and preservation solutions
  • Implementing regulations, standards, systems and procedures for records management
  • Creating and coordinating implementation of Records Retention and Disposal Schedules
  • Providing electronic document and records management services
  • Carrying out research in records management
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Records and Archives Management; or Library and Information Science plus a Masters Degree in Records and Archives Management; or Library and Information Science obtained from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience:

  • Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Records Officer in Government.
