Two paediatric cardiac surgeons are required to diagnose and manage children who need cardiac surgery. Suitable applicants should combine specialist surgical competence with careful follow-up, team supervision and an ability to support training and safe use of theatre resources.
Who should apply?
- Hold an MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
- Hold a Master of Medicine in General Surgery.
- Have completed fellowship training in cardiovascular surgery.
- Maintain professional registration and a valid practising licence.
- Bring at least three years of experience as a Medical Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose paediatric cardiovascular conditions and perform required cardiac surgery.
- Develop and implement patient-care plans and conduct ward rounds.
- Supervise medical officers, interns and trainees.
- Support professional training and identify equipment, medicine and logistical needs.
- Prepare clinical duty rosters and maintain appropriate follow-up.
Qualifications and experience
- MBChB or equivalent from a recognised university or institution.
- Master of Medicine in General Surgery.
- Fellowship training in cardiovascular surgery.
- Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council and a valid practising licence.
- At least three years' experience as a Medical Officer.
