Job Summary:
Will support planning and implementation efforts for the sanitation and hygiene program. s/he will provide management and technical support to project staff, monitor progress against plans, and report against agreed schedules.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure that water, sanitation and hygiene project, programs, and awareness are implemented effectively, professionally and in accordance with the UNHCR guidelines and practices of the population.
• Advising on Sanitation and hygiene promotion programming in broad coordination with other sectors.
• Monitoring and coordinating of water and sanitation activities in communities and institutions.
• To prepare sanitation proposals
• Preparing the activity plan and monitoring and evaluation system for the proposal.
• Sensitizing the community on basic sanitation and hygiene practices.
• To prepare budget estimates for implementation/construction and rehabilitation of water and sanitation facilities.
• To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• The ideal candidate for the Assistant Logistics officer should preferably hold a bachelor's degree in environmental health, Social Works, Social Sciences, Development studies, Public health or another relevant field
• At least 3 years practical experience in the relevant field and preferably in a humanitarian emergency refugee program
• Developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situation.
