Finance Trust Bank
(FTB) is now a Tier 2 Financial Institution that is regulated by the Central
Bank of Uganda. The bank serves a clientele of over 300,000 depositors and over
37,000 borrowers, through a network of 34 branches countrywide. The bank offers
a variety of products and services including Savings, Current accounts, Loans,
Money transfer services, and Bills payments to its target market which
comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
To meet the needs of
its growing customer base, the company is seeking to recruit dynamic,
self-motivated, result-oriented professionals to fill the following position.
MANAGER BUSINESS
PLANNING AND ANALYSIS
This position reports
directly to the Head of Finance and will be based at Head Office.
Role of the Job:
To produce internal
reports to management for effective decision-making and carry out budgeting
while ensuring that budgetary controls are in place and costs are minimized.
Key Result Areas:
·
Preparing monthly
management reports i.e. analyze the balance sheet and profit & loss
statements year on year, month on month, actual vs budget, forecasts, trend
analysis, and ratio analysis by branch and consolidated position in line with
the operational and strategic plan of FTB.
·
Preparation of monthly
board finance report.
·
Analyzing key
performance indicators of Finance Trust and provide information to internal
stakeholders for strategic decision making in line with the strategic plan.
·
Establish costs and
cost accounting systems of Finance Trust in line with the budget and Management
Accounting principles.
·
Conduct product
costing and pricing of products to establish loss making & profitable
products and suggest to management alternative solutions to improve the
loss-making products.
·
Project Evaluation
& appraisal.
·
Revenue assurance:
Ensure that all revenues (transaction & fees income are collected on time)
i.e. run tests to ensure that there are no leakages of revenue.
·
Participate in the
preparation of the strategic business plan.
·
Coordinate and guide
the preparation of the annual operational & capital budgets in line with
Finance Trust Policies.
·
Implement, monitor and
control capital and operational expenditures within approved budgets.
·
Prepare detailed
budget variance reports for both capital and operational expenditure by
branch/cost centre and the consolidated position.
·
Preparation of branch
monthly performance reports.
·
Coordinating the
review of budgets as may be required by management and the board.
·
Manage the company’s
operating cost base, achievements of a low-cost environment and generate
reports on effective cost management, in line with Finance Trust policy.
·
Authorization of
transactions in the core banking system.
·
Backup authorization
of RTGS transactions.
·
Direct supervision of
Senior Accountant and Accountants.
Minimum educational
and technical competence requirements:
·
Bachelor of Commerce
Accounting degree, ACCA, CPA or equivalent accounting professional
qualification.
·
At least 3 years
working experience in a reputable organization
·
Proven ability to work
with minimum supervision.
·
Excellent Computer
Skills with specific proficiency in excel.
·
The ability to
communicate clearly in a professional manner is deemed essential.
·
Ability to build
functioning working relationships across organizational, Corporate and cultural
boundaries.
·
Ability to take
decisions and progress towards goals in conditions of uncertainty.
·
Ability to demonstrate
positive image and uphold FTB values.
Must be a person of integrity.
