Job Summary;
The Graduate Trainee Procurement implements Procurement strategies in close cooperation with the Procurement Managers on a local level. Manage the operational and tactical procurement of local goods and services, including the sourcing, negotiating and contracting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
 Researching new suppliers for low value spot purchases and presenting them to the Procurement managers for screening.
 Sourcing and comparing prices from several suppliers for all value spot purchases.
 Negotiating prices and delivery dates.
 Checking that goods and services are fit for purpose and meet with the company’s requirements prior to order placement.
 Making sure goods arrive on time, and ensure that suppliers are paid on time.
 Building relationship with low value spot purchase suppliers, conducting quarterly reviews.
 Monitor and advise on any issues that present a risk or opportunity to the business.
 Create local purchase orders for suppliers, equipment and services within authorized limits.

Required Qualifications skills and attributes.
Technical Competencies
 Bachelors of Honours Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a related qualification from a recognized University.
 Postgraduate qualifications in CIPS or its equivalent is an added advantage.
 Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Procurement role (Sourcing, Operation) with exposure to Supply Chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards.
 Knowledge and skills in Electronic Procurement, and Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) like SAP is an added advantage.
 Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams.
