Internship Terms of reference (TOR)
We Effect was founded in 1958 to support the development of democratic organisations and societies that have the capacity to articulate the rights and needs of their members in respect of work, influence, services, incomes, and livelihoods.
We Effect works in more than 20 countries in Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa through our regional offices in partnership with local CSO, farmer organisations, cooperative federations and other democratic organisations.
We Effect applies a human rights-based approach in its international development cooperation programmes, assisting people living in poverty to secure their rights and entitlement to adequate living conditions and broad empowerment.

Objective
The volunteer will provide project and program support to the We Effect Uganda Country Office in the following areas:

Program support
• Support project/program implementation in line with We Effect’s thematic areas.
• Assist in reporting progress and implementation of project/program activities.
• Help in researching and preparing input for funding proposals and the development of resource mobilization strategies.
• Support in drafting and editing program reports.
• Support field visits in collaboration with the country manager and other program staff and assist in developing field visit reports.

Partner support
• Support in communicating with stakeholders, partners, and through social media, including drafting content.
• Support in documentation of partner case/field stories in project context.
• Contribute to the development of partner project monitoring tools, review of indicators and guide partners in data collection, conducting surveys, and analysing results to monitor program activities.
• Guide partners in drafting training concepts to justify/support and guide planned training, training sessions, and providing technical support to partners.
• Support program staff on field visits to project sites, or partner offices.
• Assist in coordinating activities with partner organisations and other stakeholders.

Documentation support
• Support in updating in CROPS, follow up documentation partner monthly briefs on activities.
• Support partners in MEALS/WIMS supporting in data entry and any trouble shooting issues.
• Ensure all partner project documents are on physical files including, Partner agreements, budgets, workplans, etc.
• Assist in preparing and filing program documentation.
• Help in maintaining project filing system and updating program databases.
• Assist in knowledge transfer and information sharing.

Logistical support
• Support in coordinating and organizing online meetings, scheduling trainings for capacity building, taking meeting minutes, drafting reports, and summarizing key findings and maintaining filing systems.
• Assist in logistical aspects of field visits.
• Assist in organizing program meetings, training, and so on.

Other support
• Execute any other tasks assigned by the Country Manager.

Working arrangements
• 40-hour week with a hybrid working arrangement.
• Volunteer will report to the Country Manager.
• VoIunteer to arrange for own medical insurance and be eligible to work in the country of assignment.
• There is no expectation of employment at the end of the volunteer opportunity.
• The Terms of Reference may be subject to change based on organizational requirements and priorities.

Qualifications
Interested applicants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
Education
• Degree in any of the following disciplines: Agriculture-related fields, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or related fields.
• Professional certification or additional training in project / program management, monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing would be an added benefit.

Work experience
• At least two years of proven experience in programming / project management with farmer-based organizations and possess knowledge of sustainable agriculture.
• Language Skills, IT Skills and competencies
The applicant possesses strong IT skills, demonstrating proficiency in computer usage and MS Office software, alongside valuable experience in data entry and report writing. He/she must be fluent in English and exhibit a range of competencies including attention to detail, confidentiality, effective communication, ethics, interpersonal skills, proactivity, openness to diverse perspectives, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask.
